Greeting Mighty 10th District. I am working on my jokes, don’t except stand-up comedy LOL. You all are doing a bang-up job on membership, let’s not stop now press a little harder, ask a few more questions. The following are a few excerpts from the history of the American Legion. “The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veteran’s organization.” “Today, membership stands at over 1.6 million in more than 12,000 posts worldwide.” “From the nation-changing of The American Legion-drafted GI Bill to relief for veterans exposed to toxic contamination in the service, veterans of The American Legion have worked for over a century to improve and strengthen the nation they swore with their lives to defend.” As our National Commander as stated we are “Stronger Together” and “Better Together” A lot of Mid-Winter conferences have been completed, planning and progress has been made on testimonials and joint testimonials, Past Commanders, Presidents, Directors dinners, rallies, and many other events.
The Consolidated Post Report (CPR) is an annual report used by American Legion posts to document their activities and community impact, submitted to both Department and National Headquarters. Purpose of the CPR The CPR allows American Legion posts to record and report their activities over a 12-month period, typically from June 1 through May 31. It includes volunteer hours, fundraising efforts, youth programs, funeral honors, and other community service initiatives. The data collected helps National Headquarters quantify the contributions of posts for Congress, media, and national leadership, and supports testimony by the National Commander on Capitol Hill.
We DO NOT stand alone!! Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Junior Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders. All are members of the American Legion Family working for one cause. Veterans and their Families. “Coming together is the Beginning, Keeping together is Development, Working together is Improvement. To clarify.
Coming together signifies the initial stage where individuals unite for a common purpose, marking the beginning of collective efforts.
Keeping together refers to the commitment to maintain that unity over time, which is crucial for sustaining progress and overcoming challenges.
Working together highlights the active cooperation and coordinated effort necessary to achieve success, indicating that true success is realized through harmonious collaboration. This quote serves as a reminder of the foundational role of teamwork and collaboration in any successful endeavor.

Membership
Hello Mighty Tenth District,
The month of February saw the 10th District make the National goal of 90% before the National date in March. The next National membership goal of 95% is April 8th. As a District we are at 6179 members of our goal of 6846. I am confident that with a little hard work from the Posts membership teams we can make it. Remember if you need assistance that your District officers are here to assist you in any way we can. Please make some phone calls to your unpaid members and as always keep recruiting new members. The Vice Commanders have provided the pots in their Sub-District with the 1982 Department holding Post information of members you can contact and see if they will transfer into your post. There are a lot of members on the list that paid their 25 dues that have not paid their 26 membership each of them transferred into your Post counts for you 26 goal and helps the District obtain ours. If they don’t want to transfer into your Post ask them if they would transfer into our District holding Post Cedar they can contact me by my email copherjasmes421@gmail.com or phone 612-396-9730 and I’ll get them transferred into the Cedar holding Post for the 10th District .
Congratulations to the Denham Post361, Waverly Post305, Golden Cally Post 522, Excelsior Post259 and Bloomington Post 550 for making 100% or better of the 26-membership goal in February. There are a lot of Posts in the District that only need one member and others that are very close to their 26 goals keep working on your 26 membership goals please and put the Mighty back into the Mighty Tenth.
KEEP THE FAITH

It was nice seeing so many attendees at the Mid-Winter Conference. It was also impressive to see so many attended the Riders Conference. A lot of great information was presented at both.
As we move into February, we start Americanism Month with several youth programs ramping up for spring. Also in February we celebrate President’s Day and an important date for Chaplains is “Four Chaplains Sunday”. Many Posts have a special program to commemorate this date in history. If your Post does not maybe it should be part of your future plans?
Dear Heavenly Father, we gather here in this month of Presidents giving thanks for this great country and for the many freedoms afforded us under the flag. We are mindful of the many men and women who gave their all to preserve those freedoms. May their souls rest in peace. And for those suffering the ravages of wars in hospitals and homes, we ask a special blessing. And, Dear Lord, for the good of us all, we reverently ask that “God Bless America”. Amen.
