Hello Mighty 10th District Auxiliary members!
Unfortunately as I am writing this we are in a blizzard warning. Spring is supposed to come soon right??
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE AMERICAN LEGION!! What is your unit doing to celebrate? Without the great accomplishment of forming the American Legion we wouldn’t have our great organization of the American Legion Auxiliary. And we wouldn’t have our wonderful extended family.
April is Children and Youth Month as well as the Month of Military Child. I hope to see units all over celebrate these special heroes. Purple Up Day April 15th.
I hope that that all the units had the chance to have a representative apart of the unit zoom meetings that Department office held about annual reports and the impact reports. Remember that the Impact Reports your unit will send to me and your program annual reports will go to the respective District Chairmen. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
On that note. It has come to my attention that some of the emails that people in the Auxiliary have been going to my spam for some reason. So please if you sent me an email and have not heard from me the next day please do not hesitate to call me.
I would like to give a plug for the District projects this year. First one being the American Legion Auxiliary Gift Shop Program. This is such a great program. For those that do not know this is a program that allows veterans in the VA Homes and Hospitals to shop for Christmas gifts for their families. And the other one being MN Veterans Pantry. This is a food pantry program that is now only at the Minneapolis VA but is looking to extend their services to all the VA facilities and clinics in the state. It provides food to veterans and their families in need. If your unit has the funds please consider donating to either of these. It is greatly appreciated.
It was nice to see a great turn out at Lino Lakes American Legion for the District SAL Sweetheart Rally. And that presentation from the dog from Helping Paws was amazing! Even my daughter Laura was impressed. Haha!
I had the privilege to represent the 10th District at the Osseo American Legion Family American Legion Birthday Dinner. Thank you to the Osseo Auxiliary for the invite. And thank you to the entire Osseo American Legion Family for the hospitality you extended to Laura and myself.
Yesterday was the Department American Legion Family Appreciation Rally at the Bloomington American Legion Post 550. Thank you to everyone from the Mighty 10th District that attended! (Even with the pending snow storm.) It was such a great day!
I hope to see everyone next weekend for the 10th District American Legion Riders Appreciation Rally at the Hopkins American Legion.
There are so many great events coming up and I hope to see everyone!
Reminder to District Chairmen: Zoom meeting with Department about Annual Reports will be held this Thursday March 19th at 7pm. Please contact Christie at Department Office to sign up.
