Hello Mighty 10th District
It’s an honor to be your District Commander for the next year. We just got done with the Department Convention in Willmar. Your new Department Commander is Pam Krill. Commander Krill will do a great job, give her all the support that you can. The Membership packets are out; your Vice Commanders have them and will get them out ASAP. Any questions on Membership let me know and I will do my best to answer your questions or find someone that can. Some of you may not know the 10th had some of the Sub Districts reorganized. You will see that in the Membership Report. We have 5 Sub Districts instead of 6. You have a new Vice Commander. We have 3 new Vice Commanders. So be patient with them.
If you don’t know who I am, I was the 10th District SAL Commander for the past 2 years. I am a Legion Member out of Bruno Post 563. I started in Osseo/Maple Grove Post 172. I was the Post Commander 20150-2017 at Osseo. My wife Cindy was the Aux. President for 4 years in Osseo. I served 14 years in MN Army National Guard. We live in Dayton, with our 2 dogs, Major and Elsah. We have our get away place in Bruno, that’s where I was born and raised.
My project this year will be for 2 great nonprofits, the first one is Legionville for the Deer and Turkey Hunts. It’s great to see the Veterans that come out for this and the impact in makes on them. The second will be the MN Veterans Pantry. This was my Project last year with the SAL, they can always use food, money and other items for the Pantry. They help feed the Veterans that show up at the VA for food and the CRRC in Downtown Mpls. The Pantry is working on expanding out of the Metro area to areas that could use the help.
I would like to Thank Past Commander Bill Gordon for stepping up last year to be Commander. And thank you to all my officers that took positions in the District this coming year, I still have some open positions for Chairmanships to fill, if you are interested, please let me know.

Hello Might Tenth District:
The 27-membership year is here, and the posts goals have been set and are in the membership bulletin along with the names and phone numbers for your area Vice Commanders. Our goal as a District for 27 is 6551, which is renewed or combination of new members signed up by each post membership team.
I will be issuing the membership challenges (incentives) in the next newsletter for the post’s membership teams. If you have any questions on membership or any of the American Legion programs, contact your area Vice Commander, me, Commander Tom or Adjutant Paul.
The numbers on the bulletin #1 I pulled off the National American Legion membership website. They are all paid for 27, most of them are probably PUFL members but might also be ones that you transmitted or renewed online.
We made our 25% by July 29th but didn't get off of the goose egg due to a lot of posts still not having their 27 post officers lists on file with the department.
We also had a post reach 100% of their goal already and that's Hamel 394. Way to Go.
I look forward to serving as your 10th District Membership Director again for the 27-membership year and thank you all in advance for the work you will put into the 27-membership drive.

Now that Convention is over and all the new Officers are installed, it’s time to get down to the business of the Legion. With God’s help we can accomplish many great things.
Gracious God, we thank You for the year we have completed, for its successes, and for the strength You have given us to overcome its failures. As we face a new year together, give us patience and understanding for all our comrades, wisdom in our decisions, and Your aid in building a better American Legion. Bestow Your special blessings upon all who assume the duties of leadership. Walk with each of us in heart and mind, day by day, so that we may continue to serve God and our country. Amen

2027 Officer reports are still needed from 18 posts. District needs a copy so the newsletter can be emailed to the current year’s Commander, Adjutant and Membership director. Also Department requires them to keep their list current.
Vice commanders should have asked for them when you got your membership packets this month. Fillable form is attached.
District Shirts are for sale thru Commander Tom Olson. If you put S608 Port Authority in your search bar you will fine the website with the shirts, there are men's and women's, long and short sleeve.
The price is long sleeve is $36.00, short sleeve is $34.00, name is $6.00 and Flag is $7.00. I already paid for the logo. Pick out the color and size and short sleeve or long sleeve.
Let me know by the end of August, make the checks payable to Fully Promated.

It should take 1-2 weeks to get everything after the order is placed.

The 10th District reduced our Sub-Districts from 6 to 5 at the 2026 District Convention in Buffalo on May 30, 2026, by amending our 10th District By-Laws.
Subdistrict One to consist of Pine City, Sandstone, Askov, Beroun, Hinckley, Denham, Bruno, Rush City and Harris;
Subdistrict Two to consist of Milaca, Mora, Princeton, Cambridge, Onamia, Ogilvie, Anoka, St. Francis, Coon Rapids and Dayton-Rogers;
Subdistrict Three to consist of Lindstrom, North Branch, Fridley, Stacy, Taylors Falls, Chisago City, Lino Lakes. Osseo, Robbinsdale, Tri-City, and Brooklyn Center;
Subdistrict Four to consist of Wayzata, Hamel, Maple Plain, Mound, Excelsior, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Edina, Bloomington and Golden Valley;
Subdistrict Five to consist of Maple Lake, Howard Lake, Monticello, Cokato, Buffalo, Delano, Clearwater, Waverly and St Michael.
The 20267-27 Membership Report reflects these changes. The July 29th report is attached.
